Murphy Empire partnered with David Wood Clothiers, a men’s haberdashery in Portland, Maine, to craft a comprehensive brand identity, interactive e-commerce website, and full suite of print, web, social-media campaigns, event signage, and promotional materials. Our ambition was to reflect the heritage, refinement, and modern-luxury positioning of the Portland, Maine clothier — creating a seamless visual system across every touchpoint.

Brand Identity & Creative Direction

Our branding and creative direction focused on clarity, quality, and timelessness. We developed a visual identity system that honors David Wood’s legacy in luxury menswear while introducing a fresh, digitally-aware presence. Every element — from typography and marks to layout and campaign tone — was informed by the brand’s values and elevated for both print and digital environments.

Logo Design & Visual Language

The logo design brings together refined craftsmanship with modern confidence. Supporting the mark, we built a broader visual language — including a versatile color palette, nuanced typography, pattern systems, and iconography — ensuring a consistent brand presence across materials from stationery to paid-social to storefront/signage.

Website & Digital Experience

We built an interactive, e-commerce website that brings the brand to life online. Its design supports robust product storytelling, appointment-booking, virtual consults, and global shipping — while maintaining an aesthetic aligned with the physical store and brand identity. Clean layouts, intuitive navigation, and brand-consistent visuals ensure digital and in-store experiences feel part of one unified system.

Print, Campaign & Signage Applications

We extended the identity into print and web campaigns (lookbooks, social assets, email templates) and created interior and exterior signage and event branding for David Wood’s retail and experiential moments. Every production piece — whether it’s a brochure, digital ad, social post, or store-front graphic — was designed with consistency, elegance, and brand presence in mind.
