Columbia Skincare Branding & Design
Murphy Empire partnered with Columbia Skincare, a historic 150+-year-old skincare and cosmetics company based in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, to create a new brand identity that bridges biochemistry/molecular science and traditional apothecary heritage. We designed their logo and mark suite, a brand-history and new-direction overview booklet, POS display and signage, and web-branding graphics — delivering a modern yet legacy-rooted presentation.

Brand Identity & Creative Direction
Our creative direction focused on the intersection of science and craft. We developed a visual identity system rooted in molecular imagery, precise structure, and vintage apothecary aesthetics. Every element — from typography and iconography to layout and material finish — supports the brand’s story of heritage, innovation, and trusted efficacy.
Logo Design & Visual Language
The logo and supporting mark architecture combine clean geometric forms (suggestive of scientific structure) with subtle apothecary references (drawn from classic skincare packaging). The visual language includes supporting icons, molecular linework, and elegant, hand-set typography, all integrated into a palette and texture system that carries the brand across digital, retail and print touchpoints with clarity and distinction.
Brand Booklet, POS & Web Graphics
We designed a detailed brand-history and new-direction booklet for Columbia Skincare to anchor the company’s legacy while presenting its modern brand evolution. We also created POS display and signage systems for retail contexts and developed web graphics that translate the identity into digital expression — maintaining consistency across all environments.
