Murphy Empire partnered with Street & Company, one of Portland, Maine’s most renowned restaurants owned by restaurateur Dana Street (also of Fore Street and Scales), to design their full brand identity system, website, and print materials. Recognized by Food & Wine Magazine as one of the Top Ten Restaurants in the United States, Street & Company embodies rustic refinement, coastal seafood, and the warmth of Portland’s historic Old Port — all captured through a timeless and elegant visual language.

Brand Identity & Creative Direction
Our creative direction focused on honoring the restaurant’s deep roots in Portland’s culinary scene while bringing subtle refinement and contemporary clarity to its presentation. The visual identity system evokes the natural textures of the Maine coast — weathered bronze, maritime tones, and elegant typographic rhythm — all designed to mirror the restaurant’s atmosphere of intimate, elevated dining.
Logo Design & Visual Language
We created a custom logotype inspired by traditional copperplate lettering, paired with a restrained palette and tactile details that evoke craftsmanship and coastal heritage. Supporting marks and print treatments carry the same balance of sophistication and rustic charm, creating a brand identity that feels both established and enduring.
Print, Signage & Digital Design
The identity extends seamlessly into menu design, stationery, and gift cards, as well as custom signage for the restaurant’s Old Port façade. We also designed the Street & Company website, built to convey the warmth and authenticity of the dining experience through thoughtful typography, rich imagery, and intuitive navigation — elevating the restaurant’s digital presence while keeping it distinctly personal.
